Staff Accountant

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role works closely with the finance team to maintain the general ledger, assist with month-end close, and support audits.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Prepare schedules and reports for internal management and external auditors
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Identify and help implement process improvements
• Respond to accounting-related inquiries from internal departments
• Prepare and file state/local taxes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or industry)
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Experience with Accounting/ERP software (e.g. Deacom)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience
• Experience with month-end close
• Familiarity with financial reporting and audits
