Staff Accountant

Financialese is a small CFO-as-a-service company that is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their accounting skills, take on increasing responsibility over time, and grow with a company that values long-term career development.

You'll start by supporting a variety of accounting tasks and gain exposure to client work, with the goal of gradually taking ownership of client accounts as your experience grows. We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, dependable, and eager to learn.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the long-term strategy of the growing firm and get access to best-in-class Founders and operators across consumer, healthcare, internet, and SaaS. Working in tandem with their team, you’ll get to work firsthand with their clients, helping Founders, CFOs, and their key business and finance staff set the financial foundation for their futures

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Perform process reviews, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team
• Code and allocate invoices and vendor bills
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and sales receipts
• Complete journal entries and general ledger adjustments
• Assist with allocations, monthly reconciliations and month end close
• Perform Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations

Qualifications:

• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and financial statements
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Organized, diligent, and thorough
• Ability to work independently as well as a collaborator on a team
• Strong interpersonal skills – you’ll be working daily with the leadership of our diverse client base
• Demonstrate interest in finance, accounting, and business strategy

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field
• 1-4 years work experience in accounting or related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
