About the Position

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

Staff Accountant job duties include working closely with the existing team to create and analyze financial reports, involved in month-end process and able to perform reconciliations and journal entries. Our ideal candidate holds an Accounting degree and is familiar with Microsoft Dynamics GP (GP) accounting software.

Ultimately, the responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process within GP
  • Prepares deferred revenue reconciliations
  • Assist with state sales tax compliance and other tax requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements related to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting within deadlines and with high attention to accuracy
  • Bank reconciliation preparation and adjustments
  • Maintaining prepaids expense schedule and posting related journal entries
  • Reconcile the AP and AR Subledgers to the General Ledger
  • Updating and posting monthly/quarterly expense and income accruals
  • Maintaining Fixed assets and Lease schedules and posting monthly journal entries.
  • Preparing and calculating monthly sales commissions accruals and the payouts
  • Resolve inter-company variances
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations monthly and related supports and reports
  • Preparation of revenue analysis monthly
  • Assistance with preparation of P&L variance analysis and commentary monthly
  • Assist with quarterly disclosure reporting and templates
  • Generates and maintains complete records of all financial transactions in accordance to IFRS and in time to meet internal and external timelines
  • Implement process improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Finalist / Qualified Professional Accountant or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or business administration
  • Knowledge of multi-currency transactions
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, using excel VLOOKUP and pivot tables in data analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
