Gone Fishin' Marine is a growing, fast-paced boat and powersports dealership committed to delivering exceptional products and customer service. As our operation continues to expand, we are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple accounting functions and play a key role in the financial operations of the dealership.

Key Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Review daily sales transactions and research / correct accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of assigned general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as needed.
• Reconcile daily bank activity and cash accounts.
• Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly sales tax reports and quarterly sales tax filings.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Support annual external financial reviews and audits.
• Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Provide backup support for the Accounting Manager.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.

GAAP Accounting Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly close process, including accruals, depreciation, amortization, and revenue recognition.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including:
• Balance Sheet
• Income Statement
• Statement of Cash Flows
• Statement of Equity
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with management reporting and financial analysis for executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university.
• 3-5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Dealership, marine, automotive, RV, or powersports accounting experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential financial information.
• Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
