Position Overview

We are seeking a tech-savvy Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment. Because Innovation is one of our core values, our systems and processes continuously evolve. We need someone who is not only comfortable with change but actively embraces it.

The ideal candidate will have a sharp acumen for technology and will manage our day-to-day accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), payroll processing, and internal budgeting.

Please Note: This role does not file corporate taxes. Instead, you will be responsible for maintaining pristine financial records and preparing the necessary year-end documentation to hand off to our external tax professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Manage all day-to-day AP/AR processing, invoice generation, vendor payments, and account reconciliations using QuickBooks Online.
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process company payroll using Homebase or equivalent payroll software, ensuring compliant tracking of hours and deductions.
  • Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, track budget variances, and provide clear financial data to leadership.
  • Tax Preparation Support: Organize ledgers, reconcile accounts, and gather all necessary financial reports to ensure a seamless hand-off to our certified tax professional.
  • Visual Data Presentation: Utilize Canva to create clean, easy-to-read financial dashboards, internal presentations, or report summaries for management review.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Adaptability & Tech Acumen: Highly comfortable navigating and adopting new digital tools, workflows, and software updates.
  • Education: Associate of Arts (AA) degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Advanced, daily experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (managing pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis).
  • Familiarity with Homebase or similar automated payroll platforms.
  • Experience with Canva for professional report formatting and presentations.
  • Attributes: Strong analytical skills, impeccable organizational habits, and a high degree of integrity.
