Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Focus

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant II supports the accounting team by handling day to day accounting responsibilities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial data, preparing reconciliations, and supporting the month end close process.

This is a hands on role focused on execution within established processes. The position works directly with the Controller to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, discrepancies are identified early, and deadlines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day to day accounting across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly recorded
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the month end close
• Own assigned close tasks and meet deadlines within an established monthly close process
• Maintain alignment between subledgers and the general ledger, identifying and communicating discrepancies
• Support inventory accounting in a high volume transaction environment, including review and reconciliation activities
• Prepare documentation and support requests for external audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Five or more years of accounting experience
• Experience participating in month end close processes
• Working knowledge of AP and AR lifecycles
• Solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger structure
• Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar
• Strong Excel skills including formulas, filtering, and lookups

• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations including prepaid expenses, accruals, depreciation, and amortization
• Exposure to three way matching for vendor invoices
• Experience working in a high volume transaction environment, including inventory
