Staff Accountant - Remote

About the Role
This position is central to our mission of supporting clients with accuracy, clarity, and integrity. You will manage a variety of accounting and tax responsibilities, collaborate with our team, and take ownership of client accounts with reliability and care. Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, analyze, and maintain financial records in accordance with established accounting principles
• Manage full-cycle accounting, including reconciliations, month-end procedures, and financial reporting
• Oversee Accounting Associate(s) work and collaborate professionally and effectively
• Prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses, including planning and compliance support
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable with accuracy and timeliness
• Communicate clearly with clients to gather information, offer guidance, and provide dependable follow-through
• Create actionable plans by listening carefully to client needs and internal direction
• Map out workflows and processes to improve efficiency and clarity within the firm
• Learn and document new software systems, ensuring processes are well organized and repeatable
• Work across multiple clients and multiple sets of books, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and strong organizational control
• Uphold confidentiality, ethics, and a high standard of personal conduct

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting
• Strong understanding of and experience working in Google Drive, Gmail, Google Sheets/Excel
• Strong understanding of GAAP and sound accounting principles
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple clients and handling numerous sets of books simultaneously
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, workflow tools, and digital collaboration platforms
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work remotely with consistent focus, organization, and self-management
• Signed NDA is required

Experience

• Hands-on experience working with multiple clients
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
• Demonstrated ability in financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management
• Experience in financial analysis, cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management practices
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and report generation

• Minimum 3 years of income tax preparation experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $36.00 - $43.00 per hour
