Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Istanbul. In this role, you will ensure accuracy, compliance, and the smooth flow of trade operations across multiple EMEA locations. You will report directly to the Regional Controller based in the Netherlands, gaining exposure to cross-border processes and best practices.


Responsibilities

  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts).
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and review basic financial reports.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tax filings for different jurisdictions (VAT, corporate tax, etc.).
  • Ensure proper classification of expenses and revenues.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Resolve inquiries promptly and ensure the smooth flow of trade operations.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring liquidity for operational needs.
  • Validate and process vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to reconcile trade-related transactions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Support implementation of new accounting systems or process enhancements.


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or similar role (internship experience considered).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or US GAAP) and reconciliation processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (ORACLE or similar preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn.
