Staff Accountant/Finance Analyst

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented accounting or finance professional to support day-to-day financial activities while helping us refine and enhance our financial processes.

This role is ideal for someone who values accuracy, works well within a team, and is comfortable taking direction while also contributing thoughtful ideas. You should have a solid understanding of financial fundamentals and be comfortable with analysis, along with the adaptability to grow as processes evolve. This is an opportunity to move beyond transactional work and help develop modern, AI-forward financial processes that strengthen clarity, efficiency, and decision-making across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support accounts payable, client billing, and receipt application, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Monitor receivables and assist with follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Review expense reports, record journal entries, and support month-end close and reconciliations.
  • Record and track internal and project-related expenses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company policies.
  • Support project financial reporting and assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Help strengthen processes, documentation, and internal controls, while identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation, including AI-forward tools.
  • Support the accounting team with special projects and evolving priorities.

What Will Help You Succeed

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting fundamentals (e.g., debits and credits, journal entries, reconciliations).
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (reconciliations, formulas, data review).
  • Ability to work independently, ask thoughtful questions, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Interest in leveraging technology, automation, and AI to improve processes.

Preferred, but not required:

Experience in a professional services environment, project-based accounting, or ERP systems such as Deltek VantagePoint is a plus, as is exposure to process improvement or automation efforts. Strong financial fundamentals, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are most important.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
