FOR INQUIRIES, PLEASE CONTACT THE EMPLOYER: Greene County Domestic Relations Court595 Ledbetter RdXenia, OH 45385937-562-6249Under supervision of the Common Pleas Domestic Relations Division Judge, and in cooperation with the Court Administrator, the Staff Attorney primarily supports the Judge with daily operations, and Magistrates as needed. Drafts Judgment Entries, Decisions, Orders, Decrees, etc. as needed by Judicial Staff. Assists Attorneys and county agencies with domestic relations-related questions and Greene County-specific questions. Creates forms and templates for interoffice use and use by Attorneys and pro se litigants. Oversees the Compliance Office.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.1.Observe Court proceedings as needed in the event a Judgment Entry must be drafted.2.Attend all Sentencing Hearings and promptly prepare Entries & Orders based on same.
3.At the conclusion of Sentencing Hearings, follow up with parties, CSEA, employers, the prosecutor, etc. as requested by the Judge.4.Act as liaison between the Court, IT, WAN Group, and BIS if issues arise with courtroom equipment.5.Draft all Sentencing Entries & Orders. Draft Judgment Entries, Decisions, Decrees, and Orders as requested by the Judicial Staff.6.Draft all Entries ruling on Objections.7.Draft all Temporary Orders in new divorce, legal separation, and annulment cases.8.Conduct legal research as needed in order to draft Judgment Entries, Decisions, Decrees, and Orders.9.Research miscellaneous issues as requested by the Judicial Staff and prepare legal memos as needed.10.Stay apprised of changes in the law and inform all staff as needed.11.Assist in implementing new Court programs and new forms/paperwork. 12.Correspond with attorneys practicing in the Court and with local bar associations when information must be disseminated.13.Assist in preparing and conducting CLEs hosted by the Court.14.Assist attorneys with questions regarding procedure, Court Orders, etc.15.Assist Greene County agencies with questions/issues as needed.16.Prepare record for cases on
appeal.17.Store and maintain exhibits.18.Maintain data on status of Objections, Transcripts, Appellate Cases, and New Cases.19.Assist visiting judges who hear Greene County cases for the DR Court.20.Attend trainings and CLEs as needed or requested.21.Maintain and update the Greene County DR website. 22.Maintain and update all forms and language used by attorneys and pro se litigants on computer, website, document server on the copier, and originals kept by front desk.23.Oversee and assist the compliance office as needed.24.Mediates all cases referred to the ADR program.25.All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Tasks include light physical effort, but may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May require some bending and stooping. Valid driver’s license and comprehensive insurance coverage required. Tasks may involve extended period of time at a keyboard or workstation. Indoor work performed in temperatures within a normal comfort zone. Work hours consist of a 40-hour work week.
