The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Staff Data Scientist for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we develop, design, manufacture, and test novel technologies.
ATL’s semiconductor foundry provides unique leading-edge capability in microelectronic devices including semiconductors (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide) and superconductors. Our devices have enabled multiple generations of Northrop Grumman’s radar and space systems, among others.

Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines utilizing Python and SQL.
Data preparation/cleaning, integration, and automation from heterogeneous sources.
Design, develop, and maintain automated data visualizations for example in Tableau.
Ensure data integrity and system availability.
Identify and evaluate emerging AI/ML technologies and trends and drive their adoption where appropriate.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science or any related degree with 12 years technical related experience in microelectronics industry, or Master’s Degree with 10 years experience; PhD with 8 years experience
Knowledge of data gathering, cleansing and transformation techniques
Experience with common data science toolkits such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
Fluent with Python or Matlab.
Knowledge of best practices in data analysis.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Ability to obtain Secret-level clearance
US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with computer vision including image classification
Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) techniques and frameworks experience
Experience researching and developing novel AI methods especially in Foundational AI.
Familiarity with Deep Reinforcement Learning, including Multi-Agent
Domain knowledge in sensing, microelectronics or semiconductor fabrication.
Experience with data platforms (e.g., Palantir, Databricks, Denodo, etc.)
Project / Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking)
Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
