Staff Engineer Applications

Job Description
In your new role you will:

• You will be part of a global automotive applications team and you will be working with colleagues and customers on developing their latest Microcontroller innovations.
• Your role includes understanding device internals and end-applications, ownership of customer use-cases with respect to Automotive software and virtual prototyping, utility tools using scripting, and closely working with global customers to help them evaluate Infineon automotive microcontrollers.
• You will support our customers’ software design-in with detailed product expertise of Infineon 32 bit microcontrollers, interact with developers and with the technical team and ensure a high level of software quality.
• Take up technical leadership in the area of virtual prototyping and modeling.
• You will be the go-to-person for worldwide customers and Infineon Field Application Engineers with technical requests in Automotive software areas.
Collaborate and share your knowledge with R&D and train FAEs and customers in the area of your technical expertise.

Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• Have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology orComputer Science ideally with focus on low-level firmware / softwareaspects of embedded systems
• 5+ years of experience in automotive software projects
• Deep understanding on embedded software development knowledge in C ideally on both, application and low-level side, profiling and solid debugging skills
• Familiarity with computer system architecture, and microcontroller fundamentals (buses, caches, etc.)
• Exposure to AURIX™ or TRAVEO™ microcontroller families is an added advantage
• Familiarity with virtual prototyping and modeling is a plus
• Be able to understand the end system in addition to software implementation
• Actively drive complex problems reported by customers to a solution
• Strong quality mindset and proven ability to engage with stakeholders to achieve the best possible result
