About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer with deep expertise in Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS) or other leading WMS platforms, combined with strong capabilities in custom application development and enterprise integration patterns and technologies. This role requires the ability to quickly understand existing system integrations, business transaction flows, and operational dependencies, and to lead the existing system as well as the evolution of integrations into our modernized technology landscape.

In this role, you will act as a technical owner for WMS integrations, collaborating with product owners and cross-functional engineering teams to define, design, and deliver seamless integrations between in-house systems and external platforms, ensuring that business objectives are met through high-quality, scalable, and reliable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the technical roadmap for custom applications and integration components.
  • Architect, design, and develop custom applications and integration components for WMS and enterprise systems.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Document and Perform data mapping and transformation between WMS and Legacy/host systems.
  • Build and maintain API-based, real-time, and batch integrations between Manhattan WMS and host systems.
  • Oversee API design, data flow, and integration testing for cross-platform solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to backlog refinement and technical prioritization.
  • Validate deliverables through technical reviews and acceptance criteria.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs and solution options to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Total 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on integration and enterprise systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical product ownership.
  • 3+ years of experience building integrations for Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS) or other leading WMS platforms
  • Prior hands-on experience in software development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of system integration patterns (API-based, real-time, batch)
  • Experience with data mapping and defining application contracts for integrations in XML, JSON, and EDI standards.
  • Proficiency with integration technologies (e.g., Boomi, IBM ACE) and custom application development.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Manhattan WMS (preferably WMOS or Active).
  • Experience in supply chain or logistics domain.
  • Familiarity with message queues (MQ, Kafka)
  • Knowledge of cloud integration patterns and event-driven architectures.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
