Staff Field Technician 2 (8601A )

Applied Research Associates Inc.'s Aircraft Operating Surfaces (AOS) Group is seeking to hire a Staff Field Technician II to assist in AOS research and field testing. The open position is located at our office on Tyndall AFB, FL. Candidates must have a current valid driver's license, current vehicle registration as well as current proof of auto insurance in order to gain access to the base facilities. The qualified technician will provide technical and logistical support to engineers and technicians, on site or in the field, or on a variety of tasks.

Detailed Description:

The qualified technician, under close supervision, will collect data, operate equipment, and perform manual labor at the Tyndall AFB site or at other field-testing locations; will assist in the testing, site preparation, and manual labor associated with airfield pavement repair. This position primarily involves working outdoors in all weather conditions. The support functions include but are not limited to safety monitoring of field activities, handling of chemicals, and recording test data.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.

Travel may be involved in demonstrating system technologies, participate in and collect test information, and/or interact with clients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Driver’s License, registration, and proof of auto insurance.
  • High School diploma/GED or advanced training and 4-5 years previous experience
  • Ability to pass a background investigation/security clearance investigation (if applicable).
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Team player with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be US Citizen, does not include Green Cards.
