1. Patient Assessment & Preparation
- Assess patient suitability and readiness for radiology procedures.
- Obtain medical history, allergies, and consent prior to procedures.
- Prepare patients physically and psychologically for diagnostic and interventional imaging.
2. Clinical Support During Procedures
- Administer prescribed medications, contrast media, and sedation under supervision.
- Establish and manage IV access.
- Monitor patient vitals before, during, and after imaging procedures.
- Assist radiologists and technicians during interventional radiology procedures.
- Maintain sterile and safe environments during invasive procedures.
3. Post-Procedure Care
- Provide recovery support and monitor for adverse reactions (to contrast, sedation, or procedures).
- Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure care and follow-up.
- Document nursing observations and patient progress accurately.
4. Equipment & Safety Management
- Prepare, calibrate, and check nursing-related equipment used in radiology (infusion pumps, monitoring devices, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols for patients and staff.
- Support infection control and biomedical waste disposal practices.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and other clinical teams for smooth workflow.
- Provide timely handover and reports to relevant departments.
Counsel patients on procedure expectations and address concerns empathetically.
