- Assesses and applies nursing concepts to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of geriatric patients.
- Implements safe nursing interventions and assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, mobility, nutrition, toileting) with respect for patient dignity.
- Observes, monitors, and reports changes in vital signs, clinical condition, or behavior to the supervising nurse promptly.
- Administers medications and treatments under supervision, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care, interventions, and observations in patient records.
- Communicates professionally and therapeutically with patients, families, and caregivers, fostering trust and understanding.
- Implements fall-prevention, pressure-injury prevention, and infection-control measures specific to elderly care.
- Demonstrates awareness of geriatric conditions including dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and chronic comorbidities.
- Provides end-of-life care with compassion, ensuring comfort and dignity for patients and support for families.
- Seeks guidance, accepts feedback, and reports untoward events or errors promptly.
- Maintains professional demeanor with empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions.
- Participates in multidisciplinary care planning and therapeutic activities to enhance patient well-being.
- Undergoes additional hands-on training and guidance sessions from the Senior Nurse, Shift In‑Charge, or Nursing Manager and regularly participates in basic nursing skill enhancement courses.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervising nurse or unit manager.
