Staff Nurse GNM (BLOOD BANK)

Key Responsibilities:1. Donor Care and Blood Collection

• Prepare the donor area and ensure all materials are sterilized and ready.
• Perform donor screening (vital signs, hemoglobin check, medical history).
• Assist in venipuncture and monitor donor during and after donation.
• Handle emergency reactions in donors (fainting, dizziness, etc.) promptly.
• Maintain donor comfort, safety, and confidentiality at all times.

2. Blood Handling and Storage

• Label, store, and transport blood units as per standard protocols.
• Maintain cold chain during blood collection, storage, and issue.
• Ensure proper documentation of all blood units collected and issued.
• Assist in segregation and preparation of blood components, if required.

3. Transfusion Services

• Verify patient identification and physician orders before transfusion.
• Assist doctors during blood transfusion procedures.
• Monitor patients for transfusion reactions and report immediately.
• Maintain transfusion records accurately.

4. Documentation and Record Keeping

• Maintain donor registers, blood issue records, and temperature logs.
• Ensure all documentation complies with NABH/NABL/Drug Control guidelines.
• Report daily activities to the Blood Bank In-Charge.

5. Infection Control and Quality Assurance

• Follow aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Participate in internal quality control and audit processes.
• Ensure safe disposal of biomedical waste.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
