We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse in the Labour Room provides skilled nursing care to women during labor, delivery and the immediate postpartum period. The nurse ensures patient safety, supports normal birthing processes and responds promptly to obstetric emergencies under the supervision of medical staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Monitor vital signs of mother and fetus during labor.
- Assist obstetricians in normal and operative deliveries.
- Perform and document nursing assessments and interventions.
- Administer medications as prescribed, including pain relief and IV fluids.
- Provide emotional support and education to mothers and families.
- Maintain hygiene and aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Labour Room Duties:
- Prepare labour room for delivery (sterile equipment, linens, etc.).
- Set up and assist with delivery trays, instruments and neonatal care units.
- Manage third-stage labor and perform postpartum observations.
- Conduct initial newborn assessment and initiate neonatal care (APGAR scoring, cord care, etc.).
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of labor progress, delivery details and postpartum care.
- Report complications or unusual observations to the physician immediately.
- Document medications, interventions, and patient responses appropriately.
- Emergency Care:
- Identify and respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage).
- Perform CPR and neonatal resuscitation when required.
- Infection Control & Safety:
- Follow hospital protocols for infection prevention and control.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste.
- Adhere to patient safety guidelines and hospital policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Diploma/GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration: Must have a valid nursing registration (State Nursing Council).
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in maternity/labour room preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and/or NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred.

Work Conditions:
- Rotational shifts, including night duties.
