Staff Nurse (NICU)

• Patient care: Provide direct and specialized care to sick and premature newborns, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic care like feeding and bathing.
• Treatment and monitoring: Assess patient status, monitor vital signs, and administer treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians. They also manage specialized equipment like ventilators and incubators.
• Collaboration: Work with physicians, other nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement patient care plans.
• Family support and education: Educate parents about their infant's condition, care plan, and basic infant care procedures, while also providing emotional support.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate and complete patient records and document all care provided.
• Attend high-risk deliveries: May attend high-risk deliveries to provide immediate care to the newborn.
• Equipment maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain NICU equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Emergency response: Respond to neonatal emergencies in labor and delivery units
