A NICU Staff Nurse provides specialized, round-the-clock care for premature or critically ill newborns, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex equipment like ventilators. Responsibilities include developing care plans, assisting with procedures, educating parents, and ensuring a sterile environment. They must possess strong critical thinking, compassion, and the ability to work in a high-stress, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess neonates, including heart rate, respiratory status, oxygen saturation, and neurological function.
  • Medical Procedures: Administer medications, perform blood draws, insert IV lines, and assist with specialized procedures like intubation or line placement.
  • Technical Care: Manage ventilators, CPAP machines, incubators, and monitoring equipment.
  • Daily Care: Perform essential care tasks such as feeding, diaper changes, and hygiene, often encouraging parent participation.
  • Family Support & Education: Educate parents on caring for their baby, including feeding and medical needs, and offer emotional support during stressful times.
  • Collaboration: Work within a multidisciplinary team, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and specialists, to manage care.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is often preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a pediatric or ICU setting is highly valued.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, critical thinking, empathy, and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

  • Fast-paced and Emotional: High-intensity, specialized, and often emotional environment, requiring resilience and focus.
  • Infection Control: Strict adherence to safety protocols is required to protect vulnerable infants.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
