Staff Nurse (OT)

Position Title: OT Staff Nurse

Position Summary:

The OT Staff Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. She/he assists surgeons and anesthetists in maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment and ensures that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare the operation theatre, surgical instruments, and sterile equipment before procedures.

* Verify patient identity, consent forms, and pre-operative checklists.

* Assist in preparing the patient for surgery (positioning, skin preparation, etc.).

* Maintain aseptic technique and ensure infection control standards are followed.

* Assist the surgeon and anesthetist during surgical procedures.

* Handle surgical instruments and materials efficiently.

* Monitor and record patient’s vital signs during the operation (as instructed).

* Maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments, and needles.

* Ensure all equipment functions properly throughout the procedure.

* Transfer patients safely to the recovery room and provide immediate post-operative care.

* Monitor the patient’s condition and report abnormalities.

* Clean, disinfect, and restock the OT after each surgery.

* Maintain accurate records of procedures, instruments used, and patient details.

* Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and other nursing staff for smooth workflow.

* Report equipment malfunction or shortage to the OT in-charge.

* Follow all hospital protocols, infection control, and safety guidelines.

* Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and audits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
