An Operating Theatre (OT) Staff Nurse prepares patients, equipment, and the operating room for surgery, maintains strict aseptic techniques, and assists surgeons/anaesthetists during procedures. They ensure patient safety, monitor vital signs, and provide post-operative care. This role demands, at minimum, a Diploma in Nursing (BSc preferred), 2+ years' experience, and proficiency in surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-operative Care: Preparing the patient, checking medical records, and ensuring the operating room is sterile and stocked with necessary equipment.
  • Intra-operative Support: Acting as a scrub or circulating nurse, passing instruments to surgeons, and assisting with procedures.
  • Monitoring & Safety: Checking vital signs, ensuring patient safety, and managing the sterile field to prevent infections.
  • Documentation: Accurately recording nursing care, surgical counts (instruments, needles), and patient data.
  • Post-operative Care: Transferring patients to the recovery room and monitoring their initial post-surgery recovery.
  • Teamwork: Liaising with the multidisciplinary team, including surgeons and anaesthetists.

Requirements

  • Education: BSc or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Experience: Proven 2+ years of experience as an operating room nurse.
  • Skills: Proficiency in sterile techniques, strong organizational skills, and high emotional/physical stamina.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
