Department: Health & Safety / Staff Nurse in the textiles industry
Reports To: Medical Officer / HR Manager
To provide medical care, first aid, health education, and preventive healthcare services to employees within the textile manufacturing facility, ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care & First Aid :
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency care to employees in case of accidents, injuries, or sudden illness at the workplace.
- Assist in arranging transportation to hospitals when required.
- Administer prescribed medicines and maintain stock of essential drugs and medical supplies.
- Monitor chronic illness cases among employees (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, asthma) and provide routine follow-ups.
2. Occupational Health & Safety :
- Conduct regular health check-ups and maintain employee health records.
- Support in health surveillance programs related to occupational hazards (e.g., dust, noise, chemicals).
- Participate in safety audits and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Report work place injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents as per statutory and company requirements.
3. Health Education & Awareness:
- Conduct health awareness sessions on topics such as personal hygiene, ergonomics, stress management, and first aid.
- Promote preventive health programs such as vaccination drives, eye check-ups, and periodic medical examinations.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain medical records, accident reports, and stock registers accurately.
- Submit periodic health and safety reports to the HR Manager.
5. Coordination & Support :
- Support HR in medical fitness assessments during recruitment and annual check-ups.
- Collaborate with the safety officer on accident prevention initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma(GNM,ANM) or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) under the State Nursing Council.
- Experience : 1–3 years (preferably in industrial or occupational health settings).
- Knowledge of first aid, emergency care, and occupational health practices is essential.
