Job Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Competence in Laboratory procedures such as bone marrow, bone trephines, skin biopsies, FNCAs & others.
  • Well versed in service, academic and quality practice.
  • Knowledge and confidence in interpretation of laboratory reports.
  • Possess teaching skills and experience
  • Ability to understand laboratory issues from the patient’s perspective.
  • Ability in maintain continuous open and consistent communication with faculty, staff, patients and their families.
  • Ability to make decisions by weighing several factors and to develop solutions that address the root cause of the problem and prevent recurrence.
  • Ability to act quickly to address a crisis drawing on appropriate resources.


Requirements:

The applicant should have:

  • FCPS in any discipline of Pathology, preferably in Hematology or Chemical Pathology or an equivalent qualification.
  • 1-2 years of experience following post-graduation / completed training from AKUH residency program.
