Caya Health is seeking a staff psychiatrist to provide expert psychiatric care to patients with a range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Responsibilities include conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, and evaluating treatment results. Under the general direction of the Integrated Primary Care and Behavioral Health Practice Manager and the CFO of Operations, the psychiatrist will provide evaluation and management services for psychiatric diagnosis for patients in an integrated psychiatric outpatient clinic. The Psychiatrist Practitioner will assist in overseeing the appropriateness and quality of psychiatric care delivered to patients seen at Caya Health.
Provides Evaluation and Management services for Psychiatric diagnosis for patients in psychiatric healthcare facilities as indicated.
Reviews potential MMG provider quality issues and determines their appropriateness for review by the Peer Review Committee.
Collaborate with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on co-management of patients when Schedule II medications are prescribed, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical protocols.
Provide leadership, clinical oversight, accountability and supervision of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated, evidence-based treatment.
Assists in developing and revising policies for MMG providers to support utilization management activities, including criteria and guidelines for appropriate use of services, clinical practice guidelines and treatment guidelines.
Collaborate with the practice manager, PMHNP, family medicine physician, and administrators to provide support and appropriate direction to facility staff on issues pertaining to care of patients.
Performs other duties relevant to psychiatrist practitioner role.
Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including, but not limited to, those within the compliance process, Standards of Conduct, HIPAA and JCAHO.
Participates in required orientation, ethics and HIPAA training programs.
Participates, as requested, in process improvement responsibilities.
Must have a current Florida license as an MD/DO.
Graduate of an accredited school of Medicine.
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Must have an active current DEA certificate.
Must have at least 5 years of clinical/psychiatric practice experience.
Cannot be sanctioned by government or private payers.
Patient population – Adults/Child/Adolescents (Ages 5 and up).
Supportive team of NPs, PAs, MAs & therapists.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, self-motivation, and high personal integrity and ethics required.
Must have the ability to prioritize workload and initiate action to require needed information from providers.
Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position.
Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
Maintains ethical conduct and exceptional respect for confidentiality.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
