Do you enjoy a fast-paced workplace? Do you have a passion for environmental issues? The Participant Management Unit at CalRecycle is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual that wants to work in a multi-tasking environment to help administering the Beverage Container Recycling Program!
We are looking for a strong communicator with tact and professionalism who is self-driven, creative, and customer-focused to assist with educating, training and providing technical assistance to Beverage Manufacturers and Distributors (BM & DS) to be compliant with their responsibilities to the Program as mandated by the California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act. To be successful in this position, you will need to work cohesively with a team, and be open minded and flexible to new ideas and solutions. The classification for this position is Staff Services Analyst (SSA).
This position will leverage your skills to independently perform a full range of more responsible, varied and complex work associated with the Program. The SSA will analyze a wide range of program related issues to advise the Unit supervisor in the development of program alternatives, policies and procedures.
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense. Beginning July 1st, 2026, it is anticipated the position will be office-centered and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week.
