Staff Trainer

About us:

Just Kids is a group of specialized preschools in Suffolk & Nassau County, Long Island, NY. Serving children with a wide range of disabilities from three to five years of age. Just Kids believes that all areas of development are interrelated and interdependent and that learning occurs at different rates for different children and that the child’s early learning environment and experiences significantly impact on their lifelong development.

Position Details:

Under the direct supervision of Assistant Executive Director, the Middle Island Site Education Coordinator is responsible for the following:

· Travel to all program sites to facilitate in-person trainings for staff before and after school hours.

· Develop and deliver dynamic training sessions on topics such as:

· Early childhood development and best practices

· Special education supports and inclusive classroom strategies

· Communication, teamwork, and staff morale

· Behavior management and positive guidance

· Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that promotes participation and professional growth.

· Collaborate with building and agency leadership to assess training needs and adjust content accordingly.

· Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with staff across all sites.

· Support organizational goals by reinforcing consistent practices and professional standards across programs.

· Maintain accurate attendance and training records.

Qualifications:

· Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

· Enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about professional development.

· Ability to connect with staff and foster positive rapport across all sites.

· Knowledge and understanding of early childhood education and special education principles.

· Experience working in a school or early childhood setting preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

· Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between program sites.

Schedule:

· Part-time; schedule varies based on training calendar.

· Trainings held before and after school hours across multiple sites

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 per hour
