Personal Care Aide / HomemakerPosition Summary
The Personal Care Aide / Homemaker provides non-medical, in-home support to clients to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). This role ensures clients maintain independence, dignity, and a safe living environment while receiving compassionate, high-quality care.
Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care Services (PCA Duties)
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Help with dressing and undressing
- Provide toileting and incontinence care
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation
- Support with eating and meal assistance if needed
- Monitor and report changes in client condition
Homemaker Services
- Perform light housekeeping (sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry)
- Prepare meals according to client preferences and dietary needs
- Assist with grocery shopping and errands (if authorized)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
- Dispose of trash and ensure sanitary conditions
Companionship & Support
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Engage clients in conversation and meaningful activities
- Encourage independence and participation in daily routines
- Accompany clients to appointments or community activities (if approved)
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate and timely visit notes
- Follow EVV procedures for clock-in and clock-out
- Obtain required client signatures (if applicable)
- Adhere to all company policies and state regulations
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required
- Must pass background check and screening requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for assignment)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

Work Environment
- Services are provided in clients’ homes
- May require standing, bending, lifting, and assisting with transfers

- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs (as required)
- Ability to assist clients with mobility and transfers
- Ability to perform household tasks

- Must adhere to attendance and punctuality standards

- Must complete required training and continuing education
