About the State Energy Conservation Office
Working in the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) is not your typical government job. If you want to work with a dynamic team and gain experience on energy efficiency programs where you are involved in managing contracts from cradle to grave, this is the ideal position for you.
SECO has many programs that help public entities in Texas reduce utility costs and maximize energy efficiency. This opportunity focuses on a hands-on approach to managing contracts and positively impacting Texans.
We are looking for someone with: (1) great attention to detail; (2) excellent communications skills to work with internal and external customers; (3) eagerness to learn new skills to perform job duties; and (4) a positive attitude to work through challenges and find solutions. Work Hours
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. May occasionally work evenings, weekends, or holidays. Hours may change based on business needs. This position requires 3 days in office and 2 days remote work schedule; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations must be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This position requires the incumbent to primarily perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (standing and walking (is routinely required to carry out some duties. It requires extensive computer, telephone and client customer contact. It requires the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and reach as need for filing or similar routine office duties. This job also requires normal cognitive ability, require the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to details despite interruption. Marginal or corrective visual or audio requirements are required for reading printed materials, computer screens, and communicating with internal and external customers. May involve up to 25 pounds of office equipment/material on a limited basis.
