APD is dedicated to enable, equip and empower Persons with Disabilities (PwD) through a variety of programs including Early Intervention, Inclusive Education, Livelihood, Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation, Policy Advocacy, Community Mental Health, Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation, Institute of Disability Rehabilitation, and Research. POSITION SUMMARY:
The state head will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our diverse programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for PwD. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for social impact and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. The state head will oversee program development, implementation, and fundraising while ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership and Management
Develop and Implement Programs: Design and manage a high-quality portfolio of programs that address the needs of PwD, ensuring they are innovative and scalable.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact and effectiveness; regularly review program outcomes and make necessary adjustments.
Resource Management: Oversee program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining financial accountability.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to enhance program reach and effectiveness.
Advocacy: Represent the organization in relevant forums to advocate for policies that support PwD and promote inclusive practices.
Team Leadership
Staff Development: Lead, mentor, and support program staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Capacity Building: Identify training needs for staff and facilitate professional development opportunities.
Research and Policy Development
Conduct Research: Lead research initiatives that inform program design and advocacy efforts; disseminate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Policy Advocacy: Engage with policymakers to influence legislation affecting PwD; contribute to policy papers and position statements.
Capacity Building
- Identify opportunities for organizational growth and support the development of additional resources, systems, and frameworks to enhance the impact of the center.
Ensure the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out programs effectively.
Fundraising & Resource Mobilization :
Lead fundraising strategies for SCIR centre to secure necessary resources and sustain operations.
Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan, identifying new revenue source, including government grants, corporate partnership, and individual donors.
Engage with existing and penitential donors and funding organizations to raise funds for ongoing and new projects.
Ensure transparency and accountability in all fundraising activities, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
A postgraduate degree in MSW, Public Health, Disability Studies, Rehabilitation or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management within the non-profit sector, particularly in disability services or social development.
Proven track record in developing partnerships and securing funding for programs.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
Skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
Strategic thinking with problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in financial management including budgeting and resource allocation.
Familiarity with current trends in disability rights and inclusive practices.
