Role Summary

We are hiring an experienced Steam Boilers Technician to perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance for industrial steam boiler systems.
The role is safety-critical and requires deep technical understanding of boiler operation, burner management, steam distribution, and control systems.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in the steam field and understands the risks, pressure systems, and safety requirements associated with high-pressure boilers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of new steam boilers and associated systems.
• Conduct startup procedures, combustion tuning, safety checks, and performance verification.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues in:
• Burners (diesel/gas/oil burners, ignition systems, flame sensors, nozzles, fuel lines).
• Control panels and safety interlocks (pressure switches, level controls, alarms, trips).
• Boiler body and mechanical components (tubes, headers, feedwater lines, steam valves, condensate lines, pumps).
• Inspect and service boiler mountings and accessories including safety valves, water level gauges, blowdown valves, pressure gauges, feed pumps, condensate return systems, and deaerators.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and emergency repairs to restore safe operation.
• Support preventive maintenance plans and document technical findings from site visits.
• Use standard inspection and diagnostic tools to measure:
• Pressure
• Temperature
• Draft/combustion quality
• Water quality / TDS / conductivity
• Efficiency and emissions (smoke analysis, O₂/CO/CO₂ where applicable)
• Report unsafe conditions and immediately escalate any critical boiler hazard.
• Prepare technical service reports and communicate clearly with the office team and with clients.
• Assist with operator training on safe boiler operation and routine checks.

Technical Competencies (Must Have)

• Minimum 7 years experience in steam systems with a focus on boilers.
• Strong understanding of the operating mechanism of fire-tube and water-tube boilers, boiler protections, and how steam systems behave under pressure.
• Ability to identify dangerous faults (low-water conditions, overpressure, flame failure, fuel leaks, etc.) and act immediately.
• Skilled in burner maintenance:
• Ignition transformer / electrodes
• Flame detection systems
• Fuel pump and fuel train components
• Nozzle and atomization quality
• Combustion air / air-gas ratio tuning
• Skilled in electrical and control troubleshooting:
• Control panel wiring and relays
• Level control systems, pressure switches, safety circuits
• Basic PLC/HMI interfaces for boiler control (advantage)
• Able to perform mechanical interventions:
• Tube leak identification and basic repair recommendations
• Gasket and flange work
• Valve replacement / actuator adjustments
• Feedwater pump service
• Capable of using inspection and service tools:
• Multimeter, clamp meter
• Pressure gauges / test gauges
• Smoke analyzer / combustion analyzer
• Infrared thermometer / temperature probe
• TDS/conductivity meters
• Familiar with condensate recovery systems, steam traps, and boiler efficiency improvement practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years hands-on experience in steam boilers maintenance, troubleshooting, or commissioning (industrial/commercial sites).
• Strong awareness of boiler safety and the potential hazards of high-pressure steam systems.
• Able to work in the field and travel frequently between cities as required by the company.
• Must hold a valid driving license and be able to drive to sites.
• Must have a transferable iqama.
• Ready to join immediately or within short notice.
• Able to communicate professionally with clients on site and represent the company.
