Steam Turbine Erection Engineer

- responsible for overseeing the on-site assembly, installation, and initial testing of high-pressure steam systems, boilers, and associated piping within power plants, industrial facilities, or refineries. This role combines technical expertise in thermodynamics and mechanical design with field management skills to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with ASME, API, or other industry codes

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervision of Installation: Direct the erection of steam boilers, piping systems, pressure vessels, turbines, and supporting steel structures.
  • Technical Planning: Develop and implement erection sequences, method statements, and rigging/lifting plans for heavy equipment, sometimes up to 100 tons.
  • Quality Control (QA/QC): Inspect mechanical installations for proper alignment, welding quality (using NDT methods), and adherence to engineering drawings.
  • Pre-commissioning/Testing: Conduct hydraulic and pneumatic pressure tests to ensure system integrity.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce stringent health, safety, and environment (HSE) rules, particularly when working at heights or with high-pressure components.
  • Project Management: Maintain project timelines, manage vendor deliverables, and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve on-site technical issues regarding assembly, materials, or design deviations
