Job Summary
HIRING ASAP- We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Steel Erector to join our dynamic construction team. Duties

• Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel components
• Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding techniques
• Use rigging gear and cranes safely to lift, position, and secure heavy steel sections and structures
• Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure proper fitment
• Fabricate steel components by cutting, shaping, drilling, threading pipes, and performing plasma cutting as needed
• Assemble structural steel frameworks according to ASME codes & standards while maintaining quality control
• Perform welding tasks on sheet metal and ductwork using appropriate techniques for each material
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times
• Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and project specifications
• Assist with mechanical assembly processes involving pipe threading, soldering, machining, or assembly of mechanical parts
• Operate forklifts or other machinery for material handling within the construction site or manufacturing environment

Experience

• Proven construction site experience working with structural steel or related fields
• Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques; familiarity with <LOCATION> welding preferred
• Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting schematics for fabrication and assembly projects
• Knowledge of rigging procedures using cranes and hoists for lifting heavy steel components safely
• Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, soldering irons, press brake machines effectively
• Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including pipe threading and plasma cutting
• Familiarity with ASME codes & standards governing steel fabrication and erection practices
• Strong understanding of safety protocols in construction environments involving heavy machinery and welding operations
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during assembly or fabrication tasks
