Steel Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Steel Project Manager to lead and manage construction projects involving structural steel works. The ideal candidate will oversee all phases of steel-related projects, from planning and procurement to fabrication, erection, and final delivery. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and manage all activities related to structural steel construction.
• Oversee the design, detailing, procurement, fabrication, and installation of steel structures.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
• Develop project schedules and monitor progress using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and prepare financial reports and forecasts.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor quality, progress, and site safety.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage RFIs, change orders, and contract documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in structural steel projects in UAE.
• Proven track record of successfully managing steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel standards and erection techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with steel fabricators or erection companies.
• Familiarity with welding inspections, NDT, and QA/QC procedures.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage subcontractors and suppliers.
