Steel Project Manager I

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company and industry safety standards.
  • Manage project startup and preconstruction activities, including quantity takeoffs, trade coordination, scope development, bid package preparation, scheduling, and subcontractor solicitation.
  • Lead subcontractor buyout activities, including bid evaluation, scope verification, pricing analysis, and subcontract execution.
  • Manage submittal schedules, review shop drawings and material samples, and coordinate approvals with architects and engineers.
  • Coordinate procurement of structural steel materials and equipment with purchasing and logistics teams.
  • Evaluate subcontractor qualifications, bonding requirements, and project risks throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project activities among owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, pricing reviews, and owner approvals.
  • Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, project progress meetings, and internal project reviews.
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with the Project Superintendent.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
