Sterile Compounding technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing sterile medications in accordance with strict safety and quality standards. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive accurate, safe, and effective medications, particularly in 503a environments. Duties

• Prepare sterile compounded medications following aseptic techniques and pharmacy protocols
• Ensure all compounding activities meet regulatory standards for safety and quality, including USP <797> guidelines
• Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and proper storage of compounded products
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterile environment at all times
• Verify medication orders accurately, ensuring correct dosage and patient information
• Support patient service by providing timely medication preparation for IV infusions and other critical care needs
• Document all compounding procedures meticulously, including batch records and quality checks

Requirements

• Prior pharmacy technician experience with a focus on sterile compounding in 503a settings
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols
• Experience with IV infusion preparation and handling high-risk medications in acute care environments
• Familiarity with pharmacy software systems used for medication tracking and documentation
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to safety standards
• Critical care experience is highly preferred to support complex patient needs
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance
