Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for processing all sterile and non-sterile materials, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. He/she is capable of testing autoclaves for efficiency and maintaining records. He/she assists in the recall process as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Decontamination Procedure According to Policy
  • Performs Sterilization Procedure According to departmental Policy
  • Maintains Patient Equipment

Qualifications

Education:

HS diploma, graduated from surgical tech or central sterile tech program

Experience:

Prefer experience in CSS, not required

License

Certification

Certified CSS Preferred, Not Required
