Job Summary:

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Steward to join our kitchen team. The Steward will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, assisting chefs and kitchen staff with cleaning and organizing, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items using manual and automatic dishwashing methods.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling according to hotel/restaurant standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, and storage spaces.
  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation or equipment setup when needed.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies and chemicals are used safely and stored properly.
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Steward or Dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant preferred (not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
