The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily stewarding operations within a luxury hotel, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational effectiveness. This position plays a key role in supporting the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams while maintaining full compliance with five-star food safety and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate stewarding activities across kitchens, restaurants, and banquet facilities
- Prepare duty rosters, allocate tasks, and monitor staff performance
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and back-of-house areas are maintained to luxury hospitality standards
- Enforce strict compliance with food safety policies, hygiene regulations, and HACCP guidelines
- Oversee the safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and machinery
- Conduct routine inspections of stewarding areas to ensure cleanliness and operational readiness
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies
- Liaise with Culinary, F&B, and Engineering teams to address operational needs and maintenance issues
- Train and mentor stewarding team members on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and SOPs
- Ensure effective waste disposal, recycling practices, and adherence to sustainability initiatives
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Stewarding Supervisor or Senior Steward within a luxury hotel or resort environment
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards, HACCP principles, and sanitation procedures
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to supervise and develop a team
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Valid Food Safety and Hygiene certification required
