Stock keeper

A Stock Keeper manages day-to-day inventory operations, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing goods. Key responsibilities involve maintaining accurate inventory records, performing stock counts, and organizing the warehouse to ensure safety and efficiency. They play a crucial role in preventing stock discrepancies and maintaining optimal stock levels. Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Receive, unload, and shelve incoming inventory, ensuring items are properly stored and organized.
  • Stock Control: Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all incoming and outgoing goods (shipments, returns, requisitions).
  • Order Preparation: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch or internal distribution efficiently.
  • Safety and Organization: Keep the warehouse or storeroom clean, tidy, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Stock Rotation: Implement inventory rotation procedures to prevent spoilage or obsolescence.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or retail environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel).
  • Physical Strength: Ability to lift and move heavy, bulky items frequently.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
