Stocker / Cashier

Job Overview

Cork 57 Beer & Wine in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Stocker/Cashier to join our team.

This is an entry-level position. Experience is preferred but not required. Your responsibility will be to routinely assist the team in stocking inventory on our shelves and to assist customers with their transactions at the register. Must work quickly and efficiently, and can bend and lift up to 20 pounds. Expected hours: 20 – 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in stocking shelves with merchandise and ensure that products are priced and neatly displayed according to store standards.
• Monitor and replenish the beer cooler daily to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Break down beer and wine boxes.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment according to store standards.
• Operating the Register: Accurately handle customer transactions, process payments (cash, card, etc.), and provide receipts.
• Ensure smooth and friendly checkout experiences.
• Expected hours: 20 – 35 hours per week·

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and stock merchandise as needed. Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds.
