Stone Installer

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stone Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing natural and manufactured stone materials with precision and craftsmanship, ensuring high-quality finishes on a variety of commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will contribute to transforming spaces with durable, aesthetically pleasing stonework, while adhering to safety standards and project timelines. Duties

• Measure, cut, shape, and install stone materials such as granite, marble, limestone, and veneer according to project specifications and blueprints.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and detailed drawings to ensure accurate placement of stone elements.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate adhesives or mortar for secure installation.
• Use hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and heavy equipment as needed to facilitate precise installation.
• Coordinate with project managers, carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of stonework within overall construction plans.
• Conduct quality inspections during installation to verify alignment, finish quality, and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the fabrication of custom stone pieces when required and perform restoration or repair work on existing installations.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while operating equipment such as scaffolding or lifts for elevated work areas.
• Document progress through reports or photographs as needed for project records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in stone installation or related construction fields with a strong understanding of masonry techniques.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating processes.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment, and heavy machinery relevant to stonework installation.
• Knowledge of construction management practices including scheduling and site coordination.
• Familiarity with materials such as concrete forms, stucco, plastering techniques, tile laying, and masonry is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate specialized equipment like glass cutters or fabrication machinery is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent spatial awareness for precise measurements and cuts.
• Good communication skills for collaborating effectively across multiple trades on-site.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods; ability to lift heavy materials safely; comfortable working at heights when necessary.
• Certifications or experience in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, or construction inspection are advantageous.
