The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting daily store operations, maintaining inventory records, ensuring proper storage of goods, and assisting in stock issuance and receiving. The role requires accuracy, organization, and adherence to company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and arrangement of items in the store.
- Issue materials and supplies as per approved requisition forms.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory registers/system.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and assist in periodic audits.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor about shortages or reordering needs.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of the store area.
- Assist in preparing inventory and stock reports.
- Coordinate with procurement and other departments for stock requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of inventory management.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel preferred).
- Ability to maintain proper documentation.
- Honest, responsible, and reliable.
Qualification & Experience:
- Intermediate / Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in store keeping or inventory management (preferred).
- Experience in warehouse/store operations is an advantage.
