Overview:
The Store/Inventory Accountant is responsible for managing inventory records, supporting procurement processes (LPOs), and ensuring accurate tracking of stock and related financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and inventory levels.
- Conduct stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Prepare and process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) as per requirements.
- Match supplier invoices with LPOs and GRNs, and resolve discrepancies.
- Record inventory transactions and ensure proper general ledger allocation.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess items.
- Coordinate with suppliers and storekeepers regarding deliveries and documentation.
- Assist in month-end closing and inventory reconciliation.
- Organize and submit supplier invoices and supporting documents to the Accounts Payable team for timely payment processing.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls.
- Prepare basic inventory and stock reports.
- Support audits with required documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- 2–3 years of experience in inventory/store accounting.
- Experience handling LPOs, stock management, and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
