Store / Inventory Accountant

Overview:
The Store/Inventory Accountant is responsible for managing inventory records, supporting procurement processes (LPOs), and ensuring accurate tracking of stock and related financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements and inventory levels.
  • Conduct stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
  • Prepare and process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) as per requirements.
  • Match supplier invoices with LPOs and GRNs, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Record inventory transactions and ensure proper general ledger allocation.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess items.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and storekeepers regarding deliveries and documentation.
  • Assist in month-end closing and inventory reconciliation.
  • Organize and submit supplier invoices and supporting documents to the Accounts Payable team for timely payment processing.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare basic inventory and stock reports.
  • Support audits with required documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–3 years of experience in inventory/store accounting.
  • Experience handling LPOs, stock management, and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
