JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Stores Supervisor, handle warehouse activities of receiving, issuing, inventory control, and storage of items, thereby ensuring the smooth functioning of the W&D operations.
JOB CONTEXT
The Store Keeper is working in the W&D Division, which stores 1150 food and non-food items and caters to the requirements of the airline and airport catering facility and Food Point.
There are mainly three sections of the W&D Division:
1. Main Stores (Stock Control, Daily Operations),
2. Airlines Stores (Bonded Stores, Equipment Stores)
3. Aweer Stores
The jobholder*s prime responsibility is to assist the Stores Supervisor to ensure operational control on all daily W&D activities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Ensure that goods received are as per the required specifications (quality, quantity, expiry date and hygiene), the stock levels are maintained appropriately for all items in accordance with operational needs and items are issued as per the different sections' requisitions.
2. Ensure all ad hoc departmental requirements are supplied as per the department requirement specs and on time.
3. Control the petty cash andensuree that proper documentation supports every purchase for accounting purposes.
4. Ensure that food items are stored in their proper designated storage areas and that any required exposure of these items to unacceptable temperature and humidity levels is minimised in accordance with the company*s established hygiene requirements.
5. Check all requisitions for purchase orders originating from the operating departments during his/her shift and forward the same to the Supervisor for further approval.
6. Ensure that proper documentation supports the issuance and receipt transactions passing through the W&D Division. Ensure control of the storage and issuance of food products on a *first in, first out* basis to minimise wastage.
7. Ensure proper procedures are adhered to when receiving, issuing, uplifting and transferring airline equipment (i.e. Fragile, perishable, chilled, food items and equipment) and the daily posting of all operations to stock cards.
8. File all documents as per the department's filing and record-keeping system to ensure easy traceability and recovery of documents whenever required.
9. Supervise staff performance during his/her shift and ensure efficient operations by monitoring the work schedules.
10. Apply the Quality Policy and Quality System established in accordance with ISO 9001: 2000 international standards and execute his responsibilities according to the department work procedures while reflecting the EKFC Quality Policy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualification:
Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Skills:
Should have good communication skills.
Knowledge of spoken and written English is a must in order to communicate with his/her colleagues and other departments.
Should be computer-literate.
Experience:
Should have at least 5 years of prior experience in Stores Management, of which 2 years should have been in a supervisory capacity.
