A storekeeper manages inventory, organizes storage, and oversees the receiving and dispatching of goods to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient operations. Job Responsibility:
- Inventory management: Maintain accurate records of all stock, including stock levels, receipts, and withdrawals.
- Stock control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, and manage the rotation of stock (e.g., using the first-in, first-out method).
- Receiving and dispatching: Receive shipments, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and organize them for proper storage or dispatch.
- Organization and storage: Ensure the store or warehouse is clean, organized, and safe, with a proper system for storing items efficiently.
- Order processing: Process purchase requisitions and coordinate with suppliers and vendors for new orders and deliveries.
- Reporting: Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile physical stock with records, reporting any discrepancies.
