Storekeeper – Construction & Real Estate
Position Overview
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing inventory, materials, tools, and equipment at construction sites or real estate development projects. This role ensures efficient storage, accurate record-keeping, and timely distribution of materials to support project timelines and minimize waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of construction materials and equipment
- Maintain accurate stock levels and update inventory systems regularly
- Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies
- Storage & Organization
- Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage or loss
- Label and categorize items for easy identification and retrieval
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the storage area
- Material Issuance
- Issue materials to site personnel based on approved requisitions
- Track usage and returns of tools and equipment
- Coordinate with procurement and site engineers for material needs
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
- Maintain records of stock movements, deliveries, and returns
- Assist in preparing material forecasts and purchase requests
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to company policies and safety regulations
- Report any damaged or expired materials
- Support audits and inspections as required
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in logistics or inventory management is a plus
- 2+ years of experience in storekeeping, preferably in construction and real estate
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Proficiency in inventory software and MS Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy items and work in outdoor environments
