F&B Store Keeper – Job Description
An F&B (Food & Beverage) Store Keeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory control of food, beverage, and operational supplies in restaurants, cafés, hotels, or catering units. The role ensures proper stock management, hygiene compliance, cost control, and uninterrupted support to kitchen and restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify food, beverage, and operational supplies against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure proper storage of items according to FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems, Excel, or inventory software.
- Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase requisitions for low-stock items.
- Issue materials to kitchen and outlet staff only against approved requisition forms.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Check expiry dates, product quality, and storage temperatures regularly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of stores, chillers, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department and suppliers regarding shortages, damages, or delayed deliveries.
- Prepare inventory and consumption reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
- Minimize wastage, pilferage, and stock variance through proper control measures.
- Assist during audits and support cost control procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in Hospitality or Store Management is an advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Store Keeper in the F&B or hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, stock rotation methods, and storage procedures.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle physical inventory tasks.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems is preferred.
