The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin is a non-profit philanthropic organization committed to improving the quality of life in Portage and Waushara counties. The Foundation serves donors, community organizations, and the community at large. We work with donors to fulfill their philanthropic goals including administering scholarships, directing grants, and building endowments for their favorite organizations and causes. Our community grants program supports efforts aimed at Arts and Culture, Education, Wellness, the Environment, and Helping People. As an inclusive community leader, the Foundation partners to ensure nonprofit excellence and amplify community needs.

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and exceptional writer to join our team as a Strategic Coordinator. This is not a traditional administrative role. This position plays a key role in helping our organization build strong donor relationships, support effective board governance, and ensure our CEO is focused on the highest-impact work. WHAT YOU’LL DO

Support CEO Effectiveness:

· Manage and prioritize the CEO’s schedule to align with strategic priorities

· Prepare meeting briefings, summaries, and follow-ups

· Draft emails, correspondence, and talking points on behalf of the CEO

Administrative & Office Support

· Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls, and general inquiries

· Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics

· Prepare correspondence, documents, and internal communications

· Provide general administrative and clerical support including emails, mailing, scanning and filing

· Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems

· Order office supplies and assist with vendor coordination

· Support general office operations and workflow

Strengthen Donor Relationships:

· Coordinate donor meetings and track follow-up actions

· Draft thoughtful donor communications

· Maintain accurate donor records in CRM

Enhance Board & Governance Work:

· Coordinate board and committee meetings

· Draft and edit board communications and summaries

Improve Organizational Coordination:

· Track priorities and support follow-through across teams

· Translate conversations into clear notes and action steps

Support Key Events:

· Assist with donor and community engagement events!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

· Relevant experience

· Strong writing and editing skills

· Ability to synthesize information clearly

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to handle confidential information

· CRM/database experience is a plus

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS:

  • This is a non-exempt position.
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; typical hours fall Monday–Friday between 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 8:30a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and 8:30a-noon on Fridays during the summer
  • The ability to work up to one day per week remotely, Tuesday or Wednesday.
  • Occasional Evening Commitments: Attendance and support at approximately 10–12 after-hours events annually is required.
