Role Purpose
The General Manager of Strategy is responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring the strategic plans of the Equestrian Sector. The role ensures alignment with Vision 2030 objectives, and the sector’s mission of promoting equestrian sports, heritage, and operations. The GM of Strategy will drive initiatives that enable organizational excellence, foster innovation, and support long-term growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning

Lead the formulation of the sector’s medium and long-term strategies, ensuring alignment with Vision 2030 goals.

Translate high-level sectoral objectives into clear, actionable strategic initiatives.

Identify and evaluate growth opportunities across equestrian sports, events, partnerships, and international collaborations.
Performance Management

Develop KPIs and performance frameworks to track execution of strategic initiatives.

Monitor progress, provide regular reports to executive leadership, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Ensure strategic alignment and synergy across different business units (operations, sports excellence, veterinary care, investments, etc.).
Policy & Research

Conduct research and benchmarking against international best practices in equestrian sector strategy and governance.

Provide insights and recommendations on emerging trends, opportunities, and risks.

Lead development of sector policies related to growth, sustainability, and governance.
Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including federations, clubs, international equestrian bodies, and government entities.

Build partnerships to drive joint initiatives, sponsorships, and knowledge sharing.

Represent the sector in strategic forums and advisory committees.
Organizational Development

Support the VP/CEO in transformation and change management programs.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the Strategy function.

Mentor and develop strategy team members, building a culture of analytical rigor and results orientation.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).

12–15 years of experience in strategic planning, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.

Strong background in sports management, government, or large-scale.

Demonstrated knowledge of strategic frameworks, policy development, and KPI-driven performance management.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in both Arabic and English.
